Weight Gain
The aim off weight gain products is to put on ‘quality’ weight / mass and not just fat. Anybody can load up on junk food laden with calories and saturated fat but a quality weight gain will have a healthy mixture off calories, carbs, protein and ‘good’ sugars.
Many off the latest weight gainers have essential fats (EFAs) and special medium chain triglycerides (MCTs). These are calorie dense lipids which act like carbohydrates and are easily converted to energy for that all important work out. This makes it difficult for the body to convert these sorts off fats to body fat and will actually improve performance.
So the crunch question, how much do I need to eat a day to put on weight? The easiest to keep track off your food/supplement intake is in calories. For a man 3000 to 4000, for a women 2500 to 3500 and the weight should come on nicely!
